Once upon a time in a quaint little hospital, two patients found themselves sharing a room. Sumitra, a young woman with a warm smile, occupied the bed by the window, while Ashish, a middle-aged man recovering from surgery, was situated on the opposite side of the room. Both were dealing with their own medical challenges, but fate had a surprising twist in store for them.
One sunny morning, Sumitra was busy scribbling notes in her well-worn notebook. She had been keeping meticulous records of her medical history for years, and her notebook had become her trusted companion. Ashish, on the other hand, was intrigued by her dedication to maintaining these records.
“Excuse me,” Ashish began, “I couldn’t help but notice how diligently you maintain your medical records. What’s the secret?”
Sumitra looked up and smiled kindly at her new roommate. “Oh, sir, there’s no secret. It’s just that I’ve learned over the years that keeping track of my medical history helps me and my doctors make better decisions about my health. It’s been a habit since my youth.”
Ashish nodded, curious to learn more. “That sounds like a good practice. I wish I had thought of it sooner.”
Sumitra chuckled. “It’s never too late to start, you know. In fact, I’d be happy to help you get started. We can organize your medical history together.”
There was a nurse in the room, who overheard their conversation and she said to Sumitra, “Why are you still using a notebook while you can do it on your mobile? You don’t have to write down all the details just upload it. There is a new innovative digital healthcare platform that is revolutionizing how people access medical care. It’s called Medibriefcase. You can download it. Open your account with your mobile number, and start uploading all your prescriptions, lab reports etc. You carry it and show it to the doctor whenever you want and all your medical records will be stored there chronologically in digital format. You don’t have to bother as your records are stored there with security and full confidentiality.”
Over the next few days, Sumitra and Ashish embarked on a journey of medical record-keeping. The Nurse taught Sumitra and Ashish how to create a concise but comprehensive record of their health history, including past surgeries, medications, allergies, and family medical history. They even created a section for tracking current health scores and appointments with their doctors. They can also book lab appointments all from the same app, with just a few clicks.
Months passed, and both Sumitra and Ashish eventually left the hospital, healthier and better prepared to manage their health. Their electronic medical records had become a testament to their newfound friendship and the importance of taking control of their own well-being.
And so, the story of Sumitra and Ashish serves as a heartwarming reminder of the power of maintaining medical records and the potential for friendship to bloom in the most unexpected circumstances.

Nice short story on keeping medical records.
